Space System Associates (Architectural Company)
Overview
The project involved creating key visuals of a commercial building for an architectural firm that entered an inter-corporate architectural competition hosted by a developer in Japan.
Challenges
The client had a clear and specific vision for how the final product should look, which was quite unconventional within the Japanese construction industry in terms of overall presentation.
The style presented a particular challenge, as I had to return to the fundamentals and find a balance between stylization and realism that suited the nature of this project.
Process & Results
The research involved studying concept visuals from various Western architectural firms, focusing on lighting, rendering, and visual flow techniques. The final work retained the structural precision required for architectural concepts while preserving the artistic essence I’ve developed through my illustration studies.
With its strong concept and presentation, the company successfully won the competition and secured a contract with the developer to design the building, which is now under construction.
