Overview
The main theme of this project is to visualize the coexistence of the conscious and the unconscious realms within the mind through the portrayal of uncanny landscapes.
This topic has fascinated me since the beginning of my illustration journey, and this project brings together my once fragmented and evolving thoughts, forming an invitation for viewers to step into the depths of a subliminal dimension.
Challenges
The need for intangible concepts such as philosophy feels increasingly vital in today’s climate, where the line of ‘truth’ continues to blur.
This series strives to invite the audience into a chaotic and irrational thought process, encouraging them to form their own unconscious landscapes.
Process & Results
The complexity of this topic has made it challenging to maintain its philosophical depth while keeping it accessible to viewers. Core research materials, such as The Red Book by Carl Jung, served as an anchor point for this series and inspired the creation of visual icons that symbolize key concepts across multiple pieces.
The work has been shared across various social media platforms and exhibited in a Tokyo gallery, continuing to convey the essence of the unconscious to a broader audience.
